RoC® Night Cream: Review and Giveaway

  • Sharebar

Can RoC® make your skin look ten years younger?

For the last few months, I’ve been participating in a trial of RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream provided by RoC® via SheSpeaks.

RoC® thinks its products can help knock a decade off your skin.

Ten years ago I was loading my four kids into my first minivan and leaving my corporate job to stay home and homeschool.

In my early thirties, my skin was smooth and firm. I was worried about oil, pore size and break outs, but not wrinkles. It was good skin.

Now in my forties, I have become more concerned with wrinkles, dullness and loose skin.

I’ve tried several retinol creams, but RoC@ RETINOL CORREXTION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream is the first one I’ve liked enough to stick with.

See my first vlog below. It’s my video review!

What I left out of my video review was that I didn’t experience the redness and irritation I’ve had with other retinol creams.

If I’m using the cream every night, I do notice if I forget and rub my eyes, but it’s not more than slightly tingly.

If you do experience sensitivity, back off on application and perhaps use it every second or third night, instead of each night.

What I did notice: My skin has, in my opinion, had an improvement in tone and a reduction in fine lines.

I don’t consider myself to have deep wrinkles, but the line between my eyes and the lines on the side of my mouth do seem less pronounced to me.

I have been watching specifically a spot of sun discoloration near my eye and have not noticed a change, so I don’t know if this product helps with sun spots, at least in the first two months.

Check out to enter weekly giveaways sponsored by RoC® and Prevention Magazine. This week they are giving away $500 in RoC® products and a designer handbag.

Giveaway time:

Follow @thefungirls4on Twitter. Each day this week, we will tweet “RoC® has been shown to make your skin look 10 years younger. What were you doing 10 years ago today?” and using the hashtag “#SSRoC”.

Reply to our tweet, tell us what you were doing ten years ago, and make sure to use the hashtag “#SSRoC” in your reply.

Thursday, July 28 at noon, Eastern Time. I will pick my favorite tweet as the winner!

The winner will receive a free tube of RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream, courtesy of SheSpeaks and RoC®.

Does RoC® take off ten years?

I’m not there yet after less than a dozen weeks, but I am very happy with the improvement in my skin and plan on continuing with RoC@ RETINOL CORREXTION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream.

It’s working for me, I can buy it in the grocery drug store and it is so much more affordable than department store products. It’s a third of the price of the last retinol cream I bought.

It’s Skin Care Week at the Fun Girls. Later this week, Chloe will tell you exactly how to apply your skincare products and why you are probably doing it wrong. See what Susan and Robin have to say too.

Let me know in the comments if you have any questions about my experiences. And don’t forget the nice comments about my feature youtube debut, because I am a diva.

RoC® provided me with two tubes of this night cream for my own use though SheSpeaks and is providing a free tube for our contest winner. This is not a sponsored post and all opinions are my own. I always provide my honest opinion.

Edited to add:

Congratulations to our winner: Margaret!

I love your vlog, Anne! Your complexion looks great – I may be willing to give this a try. But, like you, I’ve tried several, suffer from sensitivity and am tired of wasting my money.  But, if you say it’s worth the price, then I just might be persuaded :)

  • Chloe

Dang!!  You look fantastic!  Wonderful job, Anne. I’m really proud of you.

    • Anne

Thanks! You guys are being nice and I appreciate it.

  • Margaret Hollingsworth

I really thought I already posted, so if this is a duplicate, forgive me.

I have tried ROC for fine lines and saw definite improvement.  Spots are still my main issue….

10 years ago I was living in NWFL doing a single parenting gig while hubs was doing a Navy stint at the Pentagon.  I didn’t do much for myself in those days – pretty much just poured all my energies into the kids.  Life has changed a lot in the past 10 years.  I have a head full of white hair, a buncha wrinkles, and numerous age spots.  But I wouldn’t go back for all the wrinkle cream in the world.  The past 10 years have changed who I am.  And that’s a good thing.

    • Anne

      I love it.
Do you currently use a retinol cream or any particular skincare products?

  • Robin

Beautiful – as always!    Thou almost convinceth me to try said product  (but that’s just because I’m stubborn).
Ten years ago I was ‘nearly 40′ and comfortably homeschooling two kids.  Now I’m nearly 50 and about to embark on what may be my last year of home education and wondering what I’ll do with my life after that.

    • Anne

It’s cool to have wrinkles. We’ll all get them.

I’m okay with whatever it is that makes me want to hold back time a little and I think it’s cool you are comfortable au naturale.

  • Anne

Okay, the first of several tweets is out.!/thefungirls4/status/95520252074532864

Tweet us back (by hitting reply) telling us what you were doing 10 years ago.

Please make sure to add the hashtag #SSRoC

  • Leonana

You’ve convinced me! I’m going to check it out at Walgreens.

    • Anne

I’ve found it to be around $20–so much better than department store prices.
Also, keep your eye out for coupons.

  • Natalie

You’ve inspired me to buy some, a la Amazon Prime. Good review, Anne!

    • Anne

      You have made my day!

Commit to it for 12 weeks and let me know how you like it. It think this is a great product for fair-skinned girls like us. Everything shows on our skin.

  • KayKay

You did great, Anne!  And you look amazing.  You have wonderful skin and are very convincing about the product.

Oh, and you sound exactly like I thought you would.

    • Anne

      Thanks, KayKay!

My mother has minimal wrinkles, but both my grandmothers were very wrinkly, so I’m not sure if I have good genetics or not.

  • gerongirls

You look gorgeous, honey!  I will have to look for it if it helps in pore size and wrinkles.  I have way more of those than you do!

10 years ago I was the mother of three littles and I was head of everything – Girl Scouts, Women’s ministry, you name it!  I like my life way better now.  Even with the wrinkles!

    • Anne

I’m certainly less stressed now. I bet we are both more relaxed now–a benefit that comes along with the age.

  • Jmmom

Anne, you did a great job!  You don’t look like a moose ;-)  I don’t have Twitter, so I can’t follow participate in the giveaway (bummer!!) but I look forward to hearing what others have to say.

(And maybe I’ll go out and buy my own wrinkle cream!)

    • Anne

If you try it, let me know how you like it.

Like exercise, it takes consistency and time to see the results, although there are short term improvements.

  • Elizabeth

Wow, Anne!  You look great.  And sound great.  That was an excellent review.  Short and to the point, but not too short.  It actually made me consider going out and buying some wrinkle cream.

    • Anne

      Thanks, Elizabeth!
Now’s the time to get it–before you need it.

  • Susan in the Boonies

Wow!!! You are so ready for your close-up, Mr. DeMille! Your first vlog. Our first vlog! And I was there!!! This is history in the making!!!

Great job, Anne!!! You look great, and you did a great job. Thanks for keeping it succinct, and to the point.

Now, off to follow The Fun Girls 4 on Twitter! LOL! And they say there’s no irony left in this world…

    • Anne

One take, bay-be. I only noticed one “um”, but I made some insane expressions.
